  6.     In a predawn hit, gunmen with silencers shot P.L.O. official
  7. Atef Bseiso, 44, outside his Paris hotel. Bseiso was on a
  8. secret mission to meet with French intelligence agents to
  9. discuss security matters. The killers' efficiency led to rumors
  10. of secret-service involvement -- not only Israeli but French as
  11. well. Also suspected was Abu Nidal, the Palestinian extremist
  12. believed responsible for other P.L.O. killings, though his group
  13. denied involvement.
